We are seeking to recruit an experienced Finds Manager and Finds Officer to join our busy team on permanent contracts. Successful applicants will help progress a wide range of projects including a number of large publications in an area which has a wealth of significant archaeology. Both posts would ideally be full time although flexible or part time working would be considered…
Applicants should have a proven track record in producing high quality finds catalogues and reports in a major artefactual specialism for assessments, grey literature and publication, in a commercial environment. Specialists in prehistoric and/or Roman pottery would be preferred although other specialisms would be considered. We are looking to recruit a postholder who has previously undertaken a managerial role in finds, or is immediately suitable for promotion to such a role, and who understands the variety and complexity of the work that is required. In addition to their own specialism, the successful candidate will work closely with the Post-excavation Manager and Senior Project Officers to ensure that the programme for finds and environmental work is completed to a high standard and within budgetary and programme targets. They should be able to demonstrate considerable experience in the overall production and editing of finds and environmental reports up to publication level. The postholder will have management responsibility for a number of staff within the Post-excavation team. Some involvement in outreach activities may be required as part of their specialist role.
