Summary

An archaeological monitoring was carried out on groundworks during the installation of pumping stations and new foul drains at Cockfield Hall, Yoxford, Suffolk. Cockfield Hall is a Grade I Listed Building of special architectural and historic interest, with an associated complex of buildings containing eight Grade II listed structures. The hall also lies within the Area of Archaeological Importance recorded in the County Historic Environment Record, on the northern side of the Yox Valley. During these groundworks, two possible archaeological features were identified and a small quantity of medieval pottery was recovered.
