Through an examination of the Suffolk HER and National Heritage List for England, a documentary and cartographic search and a site inspection, this DBA has set the PDA within its immediate archaeological landscape.

In general the topographic location of the PDA and the known archaeology of the area suggest that there is a moderate to high potential for encountering archaeological remains within the PDA of prehistoric, Roman and Anglo-Saxon date and that such deposits are likely to be in a good state of preservation. The PDA has also been shown to have formerly lain within the post-medieval Euston Park, meaning that the two ponds within the site are former park features and of possible historic interest.
