Since graduating from the University of Bradford with a BSc (Hons) in Archaeology in 2002 Simon has been working in field archaeology, becoming a Project Officer with Suffolk County Council Archaeological Service in 2009.
Simon has experience of managing on-site excavation on various types of field projects, from small urban sites in central London, Oxford, Reading and Winchester, to largescale rural aggregate extraction quarries and landfill sites in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, South Yorkshire and Essex, in addition to residential developments in urban and rural settings. In addition to excavation work, he also assists with on-site surveying, production of illustrations and record digitising. Since moving to Suffolk he has produced nearly 200 fieldwork reports, with a similar number produced prior to that with a previous employer.
Having transferred to Suffolk Archaeology he continues in this role, as well combining it with visits to nearby schools to talk about archaeology and various historic topics according to their National Curriculum interests/requirements.
